Palerin and
the Lands
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a simple compilation of the world Epic is set in. Listed below are their names,
pronunciation, description of their geography, and images that have been made
of them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Palerinpronounced: pal-err-inn images: none
The name given to the earth by the gods. Palerin is a very large island, surrounded by an ocean - an example would be Australia. It's composed of many geological features, all of which can be found in the descriptions of it's lands.
Runyaripronounced: run-ya-ree images: i
Fire herd land. Runyari is named after the fire goddess, Runya. It has many geological features, including a desert, red sand, canyons, and an oasis or two. Trees and foliage are few, but they can be found nonetheless.
Suleropronounced: soo-lay-ro images: i
Air herd land. Sulero is named after the air god, Sul. It has many geological features, including hills, expansive fields, and streams. Trees and foliage are few and far between here as well.
Alusiapronounced: ah-loo-sha images: i
Water herd land. Alusia is named after the water god, Alu. It has many geological features, including many bodies of water like lakes, rivers, and marshes. This land boasts many more trees than the fire and air lands, but there are no forests.
Kemenupronounced: kemm-enn-oo images: i
Earth herd land. Kemenu is named after the earth goddess, Keme. It has many geological features, including forests, a few meadows, typically flat land, and a few streams. It is the only herd land that has a forest.
Coiapronounced: koy-ah images: i
Spirit herd land. Coia is named after the spirit god, Coi. It has many geological features, including caves, sand dunes, a few ponds, and a valley or two. Water is abundant in their lands, and trees can be seen in quite a few places.
Orodinpronounced: or-oh-dinn images: i
Free land. Orodin is probably the most well-known free land, as it is visible from all other lands in Palerin. It is the tallest peak in a distant mountain range, and almost always covered in snow and mist. It's surface is cracked from it's age, and no foliage can be found at the altitude it boasts.
Laidunepronounced: lay-doon images: i
Free land. Laidune is by far the most colorful and vibrant of all lands. It is a very expansive meadow surrounded by a dense forest. The grasses reach knee-length on an average horse, and bluebells can be found in almost every square foot that you can see.
Sirafelpronounced: see-rah-fell images: i
Free land. Sirafel is a medium-sized waterfall located in the same forest that surrounds Laidune. The ground is very rugged, riddled with pebbles and often slippery from the spray of the falls. Many flowers grow on the outskirts from the abundance of water. It is a very secluded area.
Gurthantpronounced: gerth-aunt images: i
Free land. Gurthant is one of the more eerie lands. It used to be lush woods and foliage, but a forest fire raged through it centuries ago. The forest has yet to renew itself, so all the trees are gray and charred. Patches of green grass grow here and there, but for the most part, the ground is covered in a bleached out ash.
Iaurepronounced: ee-ahr-ay images: i
Free land. Iaure is a strong, naturally formed bridge in the middle of a forest. It is composed of grass, dirt, rocks, pebbles, and even some flowers poking out here and there. It gives you a sturdy and peaceful pathway over a small brook, whose water never stops flowing.
Shareachpronounced: sha-reetch images: i
Free land. Shareach is a sandy beach located at the shores of an ocean. It's got many large boulders, compilations of shale and shells. Waves are constantly lapping against the sand. When standing on Shareach, the ocean is an endless expanse in front of you, and the forest is your dense background.
